This shop boasts handcrafted and contemporary pieces that will make any Maxi dress look as though you've just stepped off of a plane from your nearest tropical island. Not only is their jewelry elegant but they house tons of classic pieces that you can pair with almost anything.
Bohemia Jewellery is located in beautiful Malta, Europe (in case you were wondering about the alternate spelling of "Jewelry") and is owned by artisan Nikki Felice. This Very busy wife and mother of two young kids, is an animal-lover, very passionate about beads & jewelry, is an avid traveler, and a part-time farmer.
So as I generally do, I asked Nikki a few questions to gain insight into her very popular chic shop "Bohemia Jewellery".
When did you first begin selling your jewelry?
January 2009
What inspired you to go into business for yourself?
Well I always loved jewellery, and ever since I was a little girl I have just loved any sort of craft - sewing my dolls clothes, crochet, knitting, moulds, making carpets...whatever was available!
How do you get the word out about Bohemia Jewellery?
Ok, marketing is not easy. I am on twitter, facebook, flickr...and every night when my kids are asleep I am on my computer uploading photos and promoting myself silly. I don't enjoy doing it but it has to be done!
Can you give advice to aspiring Chicktrepreneurs who may want to start selling their own pieces?
What's important? Passion. Love what you are doing and keep on fine-tuning until you are really impressed with your own work. Perseverance - keep on creating even when things are not selling. Use that time to experiment, try new materials and new patterns. And finally, always wear your own jewellery. Its the best advert!
